Easy Vegan Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Smooth, creamy, fluffy 10-minute vegan chocolate buttercream frosting that’s perfect for icing your favourite cakes and cupcakes. It's dairy-free, egg-free, and very simple to make.

Gather the Ingredients

vegan butter  – salt – powdered sugar – unsweetened cocoa powder – vanilla extract – unsweetened non-dairy milk

– Add butter and salt to a bowl and mix until soft and creamy. – Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix again, stop to scrape down the sides of your bowl.

- Add the cocoa powder and vanilla and mix on low speed. - Add the vanilla and milk, continuing to mix. Add additional teaspoons of milk as needed.

- Mix until light and fluffy. Stop occasionally to scrape  down the sides of the bowl.  - Mix for a couple more minutes if your preference is a creamier, fluffier frosting.

Use this delicious dairy-free chocolate buttercream as a cake frosting or for brownies, cookie sandwiches, macarons, whoopie pies, sugar cookies, and more.
