How to Make Aquafaba

A Vegan Egg Replacement!

Scribbled Underline

An easy aquafaba recipe that shows you step-by-step how to make it on the stove top, in an Instant Pot / pressure cooker, AND in your slow cooker.

Gather the Ingredients

All you need is dried chickpeas and water!

Pick through the dry chickpeas and remove any rocks or bad chickpeas. Rinse with fresh water.

- Add rinsed chickpeas to a large bowl and add enough water to cover them.  - Cover the bowl with a tea towel or plate and let them soak for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Instructions are included for making homemade aquafaba on the stovetop...

In your InstantPot / Pressure cooker...

And in your slow cooker / Crockpot. Each method has slightly different cooking times and yield amounts.

After the chickpeas have finished cooking, cool and then pour the chickpeas and aquafaba into the strainer to separate the two.

Save the chickpeas to use in other recipes. Pour the aquafaba into a jar and place in the refrigerator or you can freeze it in ice cube trays.

While chilling, it will thicken. Use your finished aquafaba to make many recipes or use it as an egg replacement for baking (recipes are included in the post!)

 ENJOY!
