My headphones and I are BFF’s some days. I always turn to them when I want to listen to what I happen to be into at the time. Podcasts, music…whatever. For today’s Friday 5, I’m giving a small peek into what I’m listening to right now so you get to know the person behind the blog a little and so you can hopefully find some recommendations that you may like. And tell me what you’re listening to as well! I’m always up for new podcast recommendations!
1. The Chopped Podcast
The Chopped Podcast is called “a podcast for food bloggers” but really, it’s filled with really great tips that any blogger can follow—not just food bloggers. Each week, host Marly McMillen Beelman (who also writes the food blog Namely Marly), speaks with a guest expert about a certain topic. Anything from mastering Instagram, blog SEO, writing a cookbook, Pinterest, authenticity…so many topics that anyone in this blogging space can find helpful.

2. The Disney Food Blog Podcast
As you may already know, I’m all about the food at Walt Disney World. So naturally, I love the Disney Food Blog (which I’ve mentioned in this post). The Disney Food Blog Podcast is an extension of the blog where all the latest news is discussed in depth. Tips and tricks are also shared and the hosts are fun. It’s hosted by the Disney Food Blog’s founder, AJ Wolfe (running that blog must be such a busy, but fun job!) and Brad Johnson from Walt Disney World for Grownups. If you’re planning a trip, be sure to listen in for great tips and tricks from these experts. If you’re not planning a trip for a while, still listen, it will help fill the void until you get to go again!
Episodes come out sporadically, find a full list of episodes here.
3. Food Non-Fiction
Do you feel a theme here? Another food podcast. One track mind? Maybe 🙂 Food non-fiction takes a deep dive into the stories behind and the origins of our favourite foods and treats. So, have you ever wondered who created Rice Krispie Treats? Probably not, but once you see the titles of the podcasts, you’ll be curious! Or why vanilla is a little pricey? Or how bubble gum was created? All episodes are a quick listen, usually around 10 minutes each, some are a little longer, some shorter.

See, it’s not all business and nerding out around here! I recently discovered Spotify and well, *heart eyes* (or..*heart ears* ?) I love it. I can create playlists, I can listen to them in the car through Bluetooth, I can listen to them on my computer through the web player while I work. I let my free trial for SiriusXM radio run out so this fills in nicely.
5. The Food Blogger Pro Podcast
OK, back to business with this last one! If you read food blogs, you must be familiar with Pinch of Yum, right? One half of the couple behind that blog, Bjork, hosts a weekly podcast, similar to The Chopped Podcast mentioned above. All things food blogging related are covered, but again, there are episodes and tips that can be used across the board with any blog—food related or not.

That’s what I’m listening to. What are YOU listening to?
